href=\"http:\/\/web.colby.edu\/contemporary-issues\/files\/2012\/05\/AY-398-prof-pic2.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright  wp-image-2887\" src=\"http:\/\/web.colby.edu\/contemporary-issues\/files\/2012\/05\/AY-398-prof-pic2.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"182\" height=\"241\" \/><\/a><br \/>\nKaty Lindquist is a sophomore Anthropology and Global Studies double major. \u00a0On campus, Katy is the research assistant for the Oak Institute for International Human Rights. \u00a0She is also involved with STAND (an anti-genocide activist group) and the Goldfarb Center for Public Affairs and Civic Engagement. \u00a0Her primary anthropological interests include: grassroots mobilization, human rights, conflict in Central Africa, and anarchist anthropology.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Allison Stitham, Colby College &#8217;12<br \/>\n<\/strong>LGBTQ Rights in Uganda<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/web.colby.edu\/contemporary-issues\/files\/2012\/05\/524332_10151444528475114_784930113_23295820_968265040_n.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\" wp-image-2912 \/><\/a>Allison Stitham is a senior Anthropology and<br \/>\nReligious Studies double major.\u00a0 She is<br \/>\ninvolved in a number of clubs on campus<br \/>\nranging from volunteer work to singing.\u00a0 Allie<br \/>\nworked last summer for a non-profit teen<br \/>\ncenter called CHEETA in Portland, Maine<br \/>\nwhich focused primarily on refugee and<br \/>\nimmigrant students.\u00a0 She will be volunteering<br \/>\nthis summer at both CHEETA and the local<br \/>\nhospital before she joins the company Readak<br \/>\nto travel and teach.\u00a0 Her primary anthropological<br \/>\ninterests include: gender and sexuality diversity,<br \/>\nhuman rights legislation, and the economic<br \/>\nburden of cultural practices\/rituals.\u00a0 <strong><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Daniel Kissinger, Colby College &#8217;14<br \/>\n<\/strong>Occupy Wall Street<\/p>\n<p><strong><a href=\"http:\/\/web.colby.edu\/contemporary-issues\/files\/2012\/05\/198638_135097183248895_100002458413455_222043_3829847_n.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\" wp-image-2914 alignright\" src=\"http:\/\/web.colby.edu\/contemporary-issues\/files\/2012\/05\/198638_135097183248895_100002458413455_222043_3829847_n.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"179\" height=\"185\" \/><\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Daniel is a sophomore studying Anthropology, Women&#8217;s Gender and Sexuality Studies, and Cinema Studies from Edmonds, Washington.\u00a0 He is a member of Colby&#8217;s student run multicultural programming board (the Pugh Community Board) as well as a Steering Committee member of Colby&#8217;s all inclusive queer-straight alliance The Bridge.\u00a0 His primary anthropological interests lie in poststructural critiques of modernity, cultural studies, and the intersections of identity formation and politics and physical spaces.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Sarina Strohl, Colby College &#8217;14<br \/>\n<\/strong>Slab City<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/web.colby.edu\/contemporary-issues\/files\/2012\/05\/SARINA2.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" 256px) 100vw, 256px\" \/><\/a>Sarina is a sophomore Anthropology major at Colby College. \u00a0She is originally from Queens, New York. \u00a0On campus Sarina is involved in the Colby Culinary Society, Colby Conversations on Race, and Hillel. \u00a0Sarina&#8217;s primary anthropological interests include: kinship, food tradition, alternative living, and in-vitro fertilization politics.
