href=\"http:\/\/www.bbc.co.uk\/\" target=\"_blank\"> British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC)<\/a> is the largest public service broadcasting system in the world. \u00a0<em>BBC<\/em> was included in this survey because we were interested in examining how news sources, not just newspapers, covered the cholera outbreak.<a href=\"http:\/\/www.google.com\/imgres?q=BBC+logo&amp;hl=en&amp;client=safari&amp;sa=X&amp;rls=en&amp;biw=1208&amp;bih=596&amp;tbm=isch&amp;prmd=imvns&amp;tbnid=Z7G5fsyh3vnNlM:&amp;imgrefurl=http:\/\/labourlist.org\/2011\/11\/shame-on-you-bbc\/bbc-logo\/&amp;docid=IOIBiOdqtIVzhM&amp;imgurl=http:\/\/cdn.labourlist.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/11\/bbc-logo.jpg&amp;w=450&amp;h=360&amp;ei=C-unT_q1FYXX0QHxtemmBQ&amp;zoom=1&amp;iact=hc&amp;vpx=241&amp;vpy=64&amp;dur=110&amp;hovh=201&amp;hovw=251&amp;tx=170&amp;ty=102&amp;sig=100854619991121403943&amp;page=1&amp;tbnh=111&amp;tbnw=133&amp;start=0&amp;ndsp=21&amp;ved=1t:429,r:1,s:0,i:142\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-thumbnail wp-image-3213\" src=\"http:\/\/web.colby.edu\/contemporary-issues\/files\/2012\/04\/bbc-logo1-150x150.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"150\" height=\"150\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><em>BBC<\/em>\u00a0reported the cholera outbreak the most frequently, with a total of 47 news articles throughout our three designated two-month periods.\u00a0 When searching \u201ccholera outbreak Haiti\u201d between October 1, 2010 and November 30, 2010, it resulted in a total of 65 news results:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<ul>\n<li>15 of these new sources were videos<\/li>\n<li>3 were photo journals<\/li>\n<li>2 were radio programs.<\/li>\n<li>1 blog by\u00a0<em>BBC<\/em>\u00a0that answered live questions from civilians about the outbreak.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The quantity of alternative media sources shows the vast coverage and the multiple ways in which\u00a0<em>BBC<\/em>\u00a0disseminated information to their followers.<\/p>\n<p>Moreover,\u00a0<em>BBC<\/em>\u00a0only publishes its articles online, which can increase its circulation because one does not need to buy a subscription.\u00a0 <em>BBC<\/em>\u00a0provided a solid comprehensive outlook on the cholera outbreak in Haiti by including articles and videos that followed the growing death toll, the lack of necessary aid and intervention, and the debate over where and how the cholera outbreak began.<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_3214\" style=\"width: 546px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><a strain to Haiti from Nepal.<\/p><\/div>\n<p><em>BBC<\/em>\u00a0also included the voices of Haitian citizens and their perspectives on the upcoming Haitian presidential elections through short video clips.\u00a0 Other\u00a0<a title=\"video footage\" href=\"http:\/\/www.bbc.co.uk\/search\/news\/?q=haiti%20cholera%20outbreak&amp;video=on\" target=\"_blank\">video footage<\/a>\u00a0also provided a valid depiction of the situation on the ground by showing overcrowded hospitals and the civil unrest of the people towards the UN.<\/p>\n<h2>A Few Articles<\/h2>\n<p><a
