{"id":698,"date":"2018-10-21T20:05:07","date_gmt":"2018-10-22T00:05:07","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/web.colby.edu\/ch141\/?p=698"},"modified":"2018-10-28T20:43:05","modified_gmt":"2018-10-29T00:43:05","slug":"week-8-section-b-schedule","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/web.colby.edu\/ch141\/2018\/10\/21\/week-8-section-b-schedule\/","title":{"rendered":"Week 8: Section B Schedule"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>This week we will finish our discussion of the physical properties of gases (chapter 10) with a discussion on how <em>real gases<\/em> interact with each other and have molecular volume.\u00a0 You may be wondering, &#8220;why is that?&#8221;\u00a0 Why do molecules attract and repel each other, and what exactly gives the molecules volume?<\/p>\n<p>To answer these questions we need learn about electrons and molecular bonding.\u00a0 Over the next five weeks we will discuss how electrons form bonds in molecules and how different atoms are bonded together.\u00a0 To start off this discussion, we will lay the foundations by learning about the electronic structure of atoms.<\/p>\n<p>Reminder: Exam #2 is this Thursday!\u00a0 The exam will take place from 5pm to 7pm on the first floor of Keyes.\u00a0 There will be a review session held on Tuesday 10\/23 (Mole Day!) starting at 8pm.
