Elizabeth Leonard is an activist and organizer for the Poor People’s Campaign as the theomusicology chair on the coordinating committee. She is focusing her efforts in Maine as a part of the national organization. Elizabeth has been a part of the Poor People’s Campaign for over a year and a half and was motivated to join because she believed that talking was no longer enough and she needed to dedicate herself to action. In this interview, we discuss gentrification, art, civil disobedience, intersectionality and how it all relates to the all-encompassing goals of the Poor People’s Campaign.
