Welcome to the homepage of the Dazzlin’ Asses! We are a team of roughly 80 college students who play both mixed and split Ultimate Frisbee.

In the fall we primarily play mixed, with the goals of teaching new players the game, enjoying daily practice/scrimmages, and attending 4-5 mixed tournaments.  The season culminates with Mixed Regionals, which Colby landed 3rd out of 20+ teams in the 2017 season.

The spring is our split season. Practice is more mandatory, team workouts are regular, and play gets more competitive.  There is a Men’s A, Men’s B, and Women’s A team which competes in several USAU sanctioned tournaments throughout the spring. Each team has found success in their respective divisions and the future is looking even brighter!

Lobster Pot Break Out

October 21-22 , the Dazzlin’ Asses returned to the classic Lobster Pot Tournament in South Portland ME.  Both a Men’s and Women’s Team were in attendance and killed it.  The women were seeded 13th in the Upper women’s devision and the Men were seeded 4th in the lower Men’s devision and 22nd over all.  After pool play on Saturday the women came out with a 2-1 record notably breaking fead by defeating Middlebury (seed 5).  The women continued to come out firing on Sunday taking Bates to universe point first thing in the morning and ultimately finishing 6th overall!!!  The Men also came out firing on Saturday bageling Boston University B in the first game of the day.  The Colby Men continued to dominate Saturday ending with a 4-0 record.  This winning streak continued into Sunday as the Men went undefeated throughout the entire toutnament winning the 3rd Men’s Bracket championship 15-3 against Connecticut College.  In addition to breaking seed and taking home a sweet trophy the Dazzlin’ Asses also won a $1000 prize.  However, the winning doesn’t stop there.  The Men also won the Spirit Award.

All around it was a phenomenal weekend with amazing play from both the Men and Women Dazzlin’ Asses.  We are real excited to see where the spring will take us when we return to split teams.

Dazzlin’ Asses Stampede UMO Mixed Tournament

September 16-17th marked the first tournament of the 2017-2018 year for the Dazzlin’ Asses with an always amazing UMO Mixed Tournament.  For the first time, we sent three full mixed teams, Joe (Colby X), Kevin (Colby Y), and Nick (Colby Z),  to UMO to show Maine what we could do on the Ultimate Field.  With teams filled with returners and new players we saw tremendous improvement and promise for our season to come!  The sky’s the limit for this Dazzlin’ Ass Ultimate program, especially with this year’s class of recruits burning their defenders and getting sweet layouts.  As the tournament wound down with each team finding their own identity and building chemistry we saw Kevin finish in 3rd with Joe and Nick ending in 5th and 6th.  With one successful tournament under our belts we can’t wait to see what the next one will bring!

Remainder of the 73 athletes sent to UMO after Colby’s final game. We’re sore, sweaty, tired, and ready for the next one!

Frisbee Returns to Mayflower Hill

As everyone makes a joyous return to Mayflower Hill it’s time to start hucking a plastic disc around with your best friends!  Look to the bowl (in-between Davis and Diamond) Tuesday September 5th from 4-6pm for casual barefoot tossing and scrimmage session.  Then starting Wednesday September 6th from 4-6pm, we start official practices on the Bowl.  Bring yourself, your friends, your dog, your mom, your grandmom, cleats, water, and a light and dark shirt.
