The Colby College Football team took a Colby tradition to the next level…for a good cause!
While a Powder Puff game between Junior and Senior females has been a tradition at Colby, the football team expanded the event to include Freshman and Sophomore teams, and sold t-shirts for game-day to the players and coaches, in order to raise money for the MaineGeneral Hospital’s Harold Alfond Cancer Research Center. With much planning by Colby football players Pat Harper ’13, Danny Maddox ’14, and Zach Padula ’15, no longer will this tradition be just a battle on the gridiron between grade years, but now it will also be a fight against cancer.
The Student Athletic Advisory Committee (SAAC) commends Harper, Maddox, Padula, and the rest of the football team for putting this together. It was an awesome community event that was fun for players and fans alike, and it was a fundraising success!
