Well, I warned you. Typhoon season was NOT over, as evidenced by the arrival of SUPER TYPHOON MANGHUT! Gone was the pristine greenery of landscaped CUHK, and arrived was the most magnificent show of nature vs. man I have seen in my short life. Although the hilliness of campus prevented flooding, landslides and unstable hillsides resulted in a huge number of downed trees and relocated plant matter. Hong Kong was about 100 miles away from the eye of the storm, but Mangkhut was the strongest storm in Hong Kong since 1983. Below are some pictures of the damage on campus.
