An introductory survey of the main aspects of music theory and practice, including rhythm, intervals, scales and keys, melody, harmony, and form. Some music reading, creative writing, and analytical studies in various styles and periods are included. Primarily for students without extensive musical training; may be taken as preparation for Music 181.
