Nomination Criteria

Community Award Criteria

  • Nominee should have a proven record of outstanding, long-term community service and /or philanthropy benefiting the communities of central Maine.
  • Nominee’s actions will reflect their personal commitment of time, talent or treasure on behalf of others.
  • Nominee has demonstrated leadership, either in coordinating volunteer efforts of individuals or groups for fundraising, planning special events, programs or services that benefit the communities of central Maine.
  • Nominee has inspired others to get involved, take responsibility, or assume leadership in order to make positive changes for the community.
  • Nominee’s actions have had a demonstrable, positive impact upon the lives of others.

High School Student Award Criteria

  • Nominee must be enrolled in an area high school and be nominated by a teacher, counselor, peer, or community member (not a family member).
  • Nominee’s actions will demonstrate their personal commitment of time, talent or treasure on behalf of others
  • Nominee is in good academic standing
  • Nominee has demonstrated leadership in coordinating volunteer efforts of individuals or groups for fundraising, planning special events, programs or services that benefit the communities of central Maine.
  • Nominee has inspired others to get involved, take responsibility, or assume leadership in order to make positive changes for the community.
  • Nominee’s actions have had a demonstrable, positive impact upon the lives of others.
