Caroline Tegeler ’16

Caroline is from Needham, Massachusetts and is double majoring in Latin American Studies and Anthropology. Her interest in the region was sparked during a trip to Guatemala in high school, and she has since visited several countries and continued studying the region. In Spring 2015, Caroline studied abroad in Mérida, México at the Universidad Autónoma de Yucatán with IFSA-Butler. She is specifically interested in anthropology, indigenous rights and sustainable tourism and is writing her senior honors thesis about the tourism industry in the Yucatán Peninsula and its portrayal of Mayan indigeneity and identity. On campus, Caroline is a captain of the ultimate frisbee team and sings in an a cappella group.
