Kelly Carrasco 14′

Kelly  is from Vacaville, California and is pursuing a double major in Latin American Studies and Spanish. Her sophomore year she was awarded a Walker Grant to intern during January 2012 at La Casa de Panchita, an NGO in Lima, Peru that works for the rights of domestic service workers. She went to Peru a second time to study abroad during her junior year in the IFSA-Butler program and became involved with a women’s rights organization: el Centro de la Mujer Peruana: La Flora Tristán. She is currently preparing an honors thesis on abortion policy implementation in Peru and looks forward to staying in Lima this upcoming January for her fieldwork.
