ISRIUM 2017 will be held at the Grand Hotel Vesuvio in Sorrento, Italy. The hotel, which is located about two kilometers from the city center, sits atop a hill with a spectacular panoramic view of the Bay of Naples and Mount Vesuvius.

MAP AND DIRECTIONS

After arriving at the Naples airport (also known as Capodichino), you have several options for getting to your hotel in Sorrento.

Option 1: You can take the Currerri Viaggi bus/shuttle service or the SeaHorse shuttle service from the Naples airport to Sorrento. You can also take a taxi (somewhat expensive) from the airport directly to your hotel in Sorrento.

Option 2: You can either take a bus or cab from the Naples airport to the main train station (Stazione Napoli Centrale on Piazza Garibaldi) and take a train to Sorrento (see tab below).

Option 3: You can either take a bus or cab from the Naples airport to the Molo Beverello pier and then use the boat service to Sorrento (see tab below).

Option 4 (For those staying at the Grand Hotel Vesuvio): The hotel will provide ground transportation from and to the Naples airport at reduced rates as follows. Please email the hotel at info@vesuviosorrento.com with your travel information to avail this service.

€100.00 one-way by car (€120.00 between the hours of 8:30 pm and 7:00 am). These rates are per vehicle and the fare may be shared by up to 3 passengers.

€120.00 one-way by minivan for 4 passengers (€140.00 between the hours of 8:30 pm and 7:00 am). These rates are per vehicle and the fare may be shared by the passengers.

€140.00 one-way by minivan for 5 to 6 passengers (€160.00 between the hours of 8:30 pm and 7:00 am). These rates are per vehicle and the fare may be shared by the passengers.


The Circumvesuviana train service operates from the main station in Naples (Stazione Napoli Centrale on Piazza Garibaldi) to Sorrento every 30 minutes from 6:00 am to 9:30 pm. The Circumvesuviana train station is located below the level of the Trenitalia station. Tickets may be purchased at the station from the booth, news stands, or ticket machines. The ride can take anywhere from an hour to an hour and a half depending on the train. Diretto trains are somewhat slower and make more stops than the Direttisimo trains which make fewer stops. A one-way ticket costs about 4 euros. Please do not forget to validate your ticket at one of the validation machines before boarding the train. After you disembark at the Sorrento station you may take a taxi (a ride of 5 to10 minutes) to your hotel.

The Alilauro Hydrofoil operates a boat service that will easily get you to Sorrento from the Molo Beverello pier in Naples. The ride is about 40 minutes long. Alternatively, you may take the ferry operated by NLG. After you disembark at the Sorrento pier you may take a taxi to your hotel.

From the north take the A1 highway (Milan-Naples) or A2 (Rome-Naples). In Naples take the A3  toward Salerno. Exit at Castellammare di Stabia and continue on to Sorrento on S.S. 145. Once you pass the city of Sorrento stay on S.S. 145 to Via Nastro Verde.

From the east take the A16 highway from Bari to Naples, then follow directions above.

From the south take the A3 highway from Reggio Calabria in the direction of Salerno/Naples, then exit at Castellammare di Stabia and follow directions above.
