AR281 / Photography I

This class will provide an introduction to the tools, materials, and techniques for making black-and-white photographs. We will cover camera operation, use of a light meter in determining proper exposure, film processing, and printing. In addition to technique — and at the core of this course — will be a series of assignments, slide lectures, video presentations, and class discussions involving the theories and processes inherent in the comprehension and practice of using photography as a language of personal creative expression. Prerequisite: AR131 or AR138
