Snow Sculpture Competition
February 26, 9:45am
Join the French Club at the snow sculpture competition in front of the Alumni Center. The sculpting will take place between 10am and 1:30pm followed by judging, munchies, and hot cocoa. Weather appropriate apparel recommended.
Special Visitor at French Table

Grégoire Chabot, Colby alum and Franco-American playwright from Waterville, will make a special visit to the French Table in Roberts.

French and Italian Department Colloquium
November 11, 6pm
Join French and Italian Professors, James Kriesel, Mouhamédoul Niang, and Nicolas Russell on November 11 from 6-8pm for an engaging conversation on student and faculty research. Food and drink will be served from 6-7pm in the Wormser Room of Miller Library (outside of Special Collections) and the colloquium will take place from 7-8pm in the Robinson Room.

Crêperie

The first and third Thursday of every month features French-speaking waitstaff, amazing crêpes and live music at the Merry Table Crêperie in Portland.
Vinfest
October 2, 10am – 6pm
Hosted by Cellardoor Vineyards, this wine fest drew in nearly 50,000 people last year! Arrive at 10 am, grab a bucket and help harvest grapes! Afterward, watch as it all gets turned into wine. $10 admission, includes BBQ lunch, face painting, wine tasting, cheese tasting, and grape stomping! Proceeds go to charity. Tickets are sure to go fast.

World Vision Song Contest Planning

Tuesday, September 28 at 7pm in the Mary Low Coffeehouse the club will be planning for the World Vision Song Contest. All are welcome to join in; music will be listened to, a song will be chosen, and fun will be had by all!
French Club Hike

Craving a little fresh air? Need to get off campus? Join the French Club on Saturday, September 25 and take a short hike up Old Canada Road. Learn a little bit about its fascinating history and enjoy a lunch at Northern Outdoors Lodge and Restaurant. Hike starts at 8am in Augusta so be ready to leave at 7:25am. Bring money for lunch or pack your own.

Come listen to Jean-Marc Masseaut, a retired tugboat captain from Nantes, in Diamond 141 at 4pm on March 3rd. He will share his knowledge of extensive research of the records of the Atlantic slave trade in Nantes and its great economic impact on France.
