Striper Numero Uno

I’ve fished a few years without getting a striper on a fly rod. Mac’s done his best for me–he’s striper wise but I was the curse. So did Mainiac: he ran the striper newbies day a few years ago. I went, learned how, won the flies in the raffle, but was snake-bit since. We went out tonight to solve the problem. At sunset the water was pleasant:

Your Blood Pressure Drops Immediately

After thinking I was cursed forever, the tug became the drug—nice bendo on the 7 weight rod:

I Hope I Don’t Screw Up

Thanks to Mac I got the fish in and the picture (including all of the above). It wasn’t huge but who cares! I’m in the striper game now….

Great photos and a striper to boot. I fished for stripers on Smith River Oregon, near Reedsport)one night. We had a blast, almost ran the boat into the bank because of darkness and came away fishless. But it was fun and an adventure I would like to repeat.
