For the past twenty five years, summer research on the Colby College campus has been an excellent experience for many students and faculty.  In an effort to strengthen this successful program, the faculty and administration began the Colby Undergraduate Summer Research Retreat in 2008.  All Colby summer research assistants are invited to participate in CUSRR.  The first day of the event is dedicated to student research – a symposium featuring student talks and posters followed by a keynote lecture by an esteemed Colby alum.  The second day features recreational activities – predominantly whitewater rafting.

The Colby Undergraduate Research Retreat takes place each year at Crab Apple Whitewater, located in The Forks, Maine, nestled on the Kennebec River.  Crab Apple Whitewater is owned by the family of Rob Peabody ’96.

Many thanks to all of those who made CUSRR 2012 another terrific success!
