Our Cuban adventure began with a 5:00am arrival at the airport where we were met with a surprising, and seemingly random, baggage charge. Group money took care of it. Upon landing in Havana, the other passengers on the plane erupted into applause. What did they know about the plane that we did not?

We then proceeded through customs where Danny K.’s reading materials were subjected to great scrutiny by concerned immigration officials. His copy of the Cuban Constitution seemed to allay their fears. We then walked out into the Cuban sunshine and many revolutionary slogans and met our guide, Arturo. A tour of Havana followed.

After this post, I will attempt to post some photos of the first day of our tour.
