Annie E. Littlefield was born on March 25, 1866, in Saco, Maine, to Alden Black Littlefield and Abbie Marshall Littlefield. She attended high school in Saco before matriculating at Colby University in the fall of 1886. She graduated on July 2, 1890, a member of the Sigma Kappa sorority. Thereupon, she engaged in a career as an elementary school teacher, first in Freeport, Maine from 1892-1895, and then in Saco, from 1896-1930. She later retired to her home in Saco Maine, where she stayed in contact with Dr. George C. Littlefield, her brother, who knew her for her quick wit. She died on May 25, 1950, at a Hollis rest home.
