A web application or webapp is an application that is accessed via a web browser over a network such as the Internet or an Intranet. Google Docs is a FREE webapp offered by Google. With Google Docs you can:
- Create documents, spreadsheets and presentations online.
It accepts most popular file formats, including DOC, XLS, ODT, ODS, RTF, CSV, PPT, etc

- Share and collaborate in real time.
Multiple people can view and make changes at the same time. There is a little chat window too!

- Safely store, export and organize your work.
Edit and access from anywhere. You can save your documents and spreadsheets to your own computer in DOC, XLS, CSV, ODS, ODT, PDF, RTF and HTML formats.

- Publish your work as a web page and control who can see your document
