Personal File Space
Your Personal File Space
Anyone with a Colby account has a personal file space set up for them automatically on fileserver1. While it affords limited space (500MB) it is very useful when you need to put a file “somewhere” that you can access it from another computer on or off campus.
ON CAMPUS
From a Mac
- Finder > Go > smb://filer/personal
- Select the appropriate folder (Admin, Student, etc.)
- Search for your named folder
From a PC
- Start > Run > \\filer\personal
- Select the appropriate folder (Admin, Student, etc.)
- Search for your named folder
OFF CAMPUS
- Connect to Colby via VPN (instructions here)
- Follow directions above appropriate for your computer type
