We’ve had a very productive summer at the garden so far, with the help of our three summer garden interns, Amelia Chambers ’16, George Hill ’16, and Nick Pattison ’18. We’ve gone from preparing the garden in late may, to planting in june, and then harvesting in late july (with weeding all in-between!!).
Now, we are finding that we’ve got tons of summer squash and zucchini to harvest! We are harvesting almost every day – one day even coming to around 60 pounds of summer squash and 40 pounds of zucchini (just in one day!!!). We are also harvesting lots of peppers, bush beans, radishes, kale, and spinach!! Soon, we’ll have tomatoes (we can see a few tomatoes starting to turn red-ish, with lots that are still green!!)
Look out for more posts as our own food comes in and our plants in the garden are harvested!
