Meet the Team


Cate CATE TALBOT ASHTON (ctashton@colby.edu), Associate Director
Cate graduated from Colby in 1980, where she completed the “ever-versatile” English major. Following graduation, she spent time working for a law firm in Boston, a psychiatric hospital in Edinburgh, Scotland, as an admissions counselor for Rocky Mountain College in Billings, MT, and going to graduate school at Bowling Green State University in Ohio. Upon completing her masters in student affairs, Cate returned to Colby in the Career Center. Cate also earned a masters in library science through a distance education program provided in Maine by the University of South Carolina. This has allowed her to learn more about children’s literature and fed her passion for connecting Colby students with the information that can help them make informed career and life decisions. In her spare time she exchanges text messages with her two sons who are students at UNH and Allegheny College and indulges in her obsession with knitting lace.
Tammi TAMMI-LYNN HAMM (tlhamm@colby.edu, Administrative Secretary
Tammi joined the Career Center in August 2009. She received her Associate in Applied Science degree in Business Administration with a concentration in legal at Kennebec Valley Community College in 2002. Tammi enjoys spending time with her three children and extended family.
Erica ERICA L. HUMPHREY (Erica.Humphrey@colby.edu), Associate Director of Employer Relations
Erica joined the Career Center in August 2009 and has worked at the College for over four years, having held a previous post in College Relations. She earned her B.A. in English, summa cum laude, from the University of Maine; an M.Ed. from Harvard University, and an M.B.A. from Boston College. Erica was born and raised in Waterville, and in her free time enjoys hiking and the outdoors, traveling, reading, and spending time with her family and friends. Erica is married and has two teenage stepdaughters and a black lab pup.
Leslie LESLIE KINGSLEY (lkingsle@colby.edu), Assistant Director/Career Counselor
Leslie joined the Career Center team in August of 2010. She completed her B.S. from Plymouth State University in Finance with minors in Professional Communication and Economics and her M.Ed in College Student Personnel from Ohio University. In her free time she enjoys spending time with her family and friends, her black lab pup, being outdoors and exercising, cooking and baking, and keeping up on New England sports!
Roger ROGER W. WOOLSEY (rwoolsey@colby.edu), Career Center Director
Roger has been with Colby since 2008 coming from Boston College where he was a professor and counselor in the Department of Communication for the previous ten years. Rog taught advertising, public relations, public speaking, and rhetorical theory. He was also responsible for career counseling, internships, academic advising, study abroad, and department communications. Rog earned his B.A. from San Diego State and his M.A. in Organizational Communication and Marketing from Emerson College. He enjoys exercising, and spending time with family and friends.
