Professional Information
Steve J. Wurtzler is the author of Electric Sounds: Technological Change and the Rise of Corporate Mass Media (Columbia University Press). His essays on sound media have appeared in several anthologies, including Communities of the Air: Radio Century, Radio Culture, Keyframes: Popular Cinema and Cultural Studies, and Sound Theory/Sound Practice. He is an Associate Professor of Cinema Studies at Colby College where he chairs the Cinema Studies minor.
