LyndaCampus offers a library of over 2,400 tutorial videos to help anyone learn software, web design, and business skills. The courses are broken up into short videos (usually 2-6 minutes) and are organized into chapters so you can enjoy them on your own time and at your own pace.
If you have ever used other online video services like YouTube or Vimeo you will feel right at home using lyndaCampus. Here is a short introductory video on how to use lyndaCampus, after you watch it click the blue “watch this course” button to learn more.
You can access lyndaCampus from any Internet-connected device, anywhere in the world. Windows and Macintosh users can click the “Log in” button above and enter your Colby username and password. iOS users can follow these steps. Android users can follow these steps.
One possible use may be to direct students to tutorial videos instead of using class time to cover the topic. For example, how to use Excel. LyndaCampus offers the capability to create groups of students and assign them playlists of courses. Faculty members can then track the progress of the students as they work through the playlists.
Students can use the courses offered through lyndaCampus to expand their knowledge of software titles that are required for courses or that might pique their interest. LyndaCampus also offers courses in skills such as photography, time management and interview techniques.
Similar to faculty creating groups and playlists of courses for students, staff can create these same groups and playlists of courses and assign them to others to work through in cohorts. Cohort leaders can then track cohort progress through courses. Staff can also use the courses offered through lyndaCampus to expand their knowledge of software titles that are required for jobs or that might pique their interests.
